Kinesiology
Kinesiology has been developed in the sixties by the chiropractor Dr. James Goodheart in the US.
Some thousand years ago traditional chinese medicine has funded the science of the meridians (energy conduction systems) that run through the body and are in contact with certain organs and muscle groups.
This knowledge is an important part of the background for kinesiological work, as well as chiropractical elements.
With the help of muscle testing functional patterns of the brain and neurological as well as psychological reaction patterns will be detected and corrected.
Blockades will be dissolved , the cooperation of the two brain hemispheres is enhanced and the energy flow is stimulated.
Generally 5 to 7 kinesiological sessions are sufficient for achieving effective change.
If the exercises explained during the session are conducted at home on a regular basis the length of treatment can be significantly reduced.
It is always possible though to work without "homework" if your child is not ready to commit.
During the kinesiological treatment that mostly will be applied to school children or older teenagers, the child will play an active role in the examination and the treatment of the specific functional disorder.
A treatment session generally lasts about 1 hour, your child can remain fully clothed.
The session can be done with or without the attendance of the parent.
Mostly children react with interest and curiosity to the treatment method, the applied interventions are pleasant and have a relaxing effect.
Since movement will be an integral part of this treatment children usually will find it easy to actively participate in the session.
The area of application for kinesiology:
- Learning blockades
- Dyslexia
- Dyscalculia
- Auditive perception disorder
- Visual perception disorder
- Developmental delays
- Speech
- Motor skills
- Functional disturbances
- Problems in hand-eye-coordination
- Unconscious blockades
- Delayed speech development
- Articulatory disorders
- Additional treatment for orthodontic problems
- Stress symptoms
- Emotional problems and blockades
- Food incompatibilities
- Allergies
- Testing for allergies and medicine
- Burn-out syndrome and general stress reduction
- Exam nerves
- Support with medical conditions and stimulation of the self-healing process
Ususally kinesiology will not be the sole method for the treatment of partial performance disorders or with school problems.
Together we will develop an individual treatment plan for your child including a combination of different therapy methods.
Occupational and logopedic therapy benefit enormously by an additional kinesiological treatment that will usually shorten the length and enhance the effect of therapy.
